Layering Investigation
I learned that Layering can be used to express a multitude of subjects at once in a given space. The reason an artist would use layering is to portray their subject as having depth in a singular moment instead of diluting the subject's essence by spreading it out in an attempt to completely encapsulate it. Adele demonstrates layering in her music video “Send My Love” by having multiple videos of herself singing overlaid with each other. She does this to express the multiple emotions she wishes to express in her song while being able to keep simplistic aesthetic without the disruption of multiple cuts or scene changes. Near the end of my animation when the smallest thing is going to set off the protagonist I could have each event quickly be layered on top of what is currently happening. What I’d also like to do is to bring the present into slow motion while the scenes flash by to exaggerate the effect each event had on protagonist. Adele rea...
