Week 7

 Progress Report

Alley

So far I have textured all but two types of buildings which is less than I would have liked in this time frame but due to topology issues when texturing was unavoidable. In addition to this blender has run into some unforeseen issues regarding how well it is able to load up my project which is being worked on. Also I have switched from the use of Eevee to Cycles because of a software I recently found that will help me with lighting but only works in cycles. do to not being to far into my project this transition has been mostly uneventful. the only serious issue is that due to blenders operating issues and the switch to cycles it has been difficult relighting the alley especially when trying to keep in mind the lights to be added.

Bedroom

On top of the progress made In the alley some changes have been made to the bedroom and while somewhat minor I believe they have helped massively declutter the area and make the scene much easier to comprehend while also eliminating the issue of carpet particles climbing the walls.

Reflection

while everything is currently going somewhat smoothly there are a few things I would change in the future. First of all I would separate the scenes into different blend files to lower the stress of one setting also I would probably use more of the bool tool and less extrusions to reduce internal geometry. also I would have used bool tool to slowly make rooms and piece them together instead of trying to extrude them constantly and end up having to constantly recalculating normals.
