End of Marking Period 3

Intention Definition & Exploration of Ideas      My concept was looking inwards, more specifically about how the little things in a day can add up to a breaking point and how it can effect someone almost as bad as if one big thing happened. The reason I wanted to go with this theme is because when ever I have days when so many things are stacking up it feels like complaining if I ever try to tell anyone, so by making an animation that visualizes this feeling it is a way to help people understand that even though nothing really big happened it still has an emotional toll.  Planning     For most of Marking period three I was rigging and readjusting my ghosts. Most of the work I got done was either things I learned Sophomore year or was self taught. however I did need assistance with however was keeping Sadness cloud above their head. I ended up needing to have a post made on Blenderartist for assistance which lead me to the solution of parenti...

Week ??? (Make up)

This tutorial taught me how to quickly rig a human character and the basics for how to rig a nonhumanoid mesh. I also didn't know that there was a symmetry button I can use to get an exact replica of one side of an armature which really helps a lot. In addition to this tutorial teaching me some good ground work for rigging it also showed me quite a few shortcuts I can use when rigging to make it go quicker.

In this video I learned how to efficiently weight paint a mesh and some of the glitches Blender has when it comes to weight painting. I didn't know that there was a way to make the brush shade a flat weight instead of falling off at the edges when painting. Also This video taught me a few strategies for getting a good weight on all the verities, such as adding verities or slowly adjusting individual ones to get the desired result.

Week 14

This week I struggled with keeping the cloud over Sadness because if I added it to the armature for sadness it would rotate with the armature which I didn't want it to. then I tried looking at the line graph to try to reset the rotation but that also didn't work because there was no rotation data there. This left we with only being able to ask for help via Blender Artist. After a bit of time the recommendation to use a Child of constraint on the cloud and to disable rotation which would have worked but the way I animated my ghosties made it not work, so this time I animated the cloud by hand and when I do my final animation I'll use the method that with let the constraint work.
