End of Marking Period 3

 

Intention Definition & Exploration of Ideas

    My concept was looking inwards, more specifically about how the little things in a day can add up to a breaking point and how it can effect someone almost as bad as if one big thing happened. The reason I wanted to go with this theme is because when ever I have days when so many things are stacking up it feels like complaining if I ever try to tell anyone, so by making an animation that visualizes this feeling it is a way to help people understand that even though nothing really big happened it still has an emotional toll. 

Planning

    For most of Marking period three I was rigging and readjusting my ghosts. Most of the work I got done was either things I learned Sophomore year or was self taught. however I did need assistance with however was keeping Sadness cloud above their head. I ended up needing to have a post made on Blenderartist for assistance which lead me to the solution of parenting the mesh of sadness to their cloud using a constraint and then disabling rotation.

Producing

    due to the slow start I had in rigging the ghosts and some of the mistakes I made when modeling them it took more time to do their test animation than I originally estimated it would. However I was mostly happy with how it turned out thought. The eyes shrinking at different times did annoy me, but I didn't believe it to be a big enough issue to go back and fix.

Evaluating

    What I have done I am confident in, but I need to seriously speed up in order to accomplish everything I wish to do. I have made a time line in accordance of what I need to get done, but I have a back up plan that I could execute now for the district arts festival. This would be to adjust the meshes of my ghosts and 3D print them; then just render my settings as a still image or a short looping clip.

Integrating

    All of my settings are finished however some props and particle systems haven't been implemented yet so that needs to be done. Though after that all I need to do is model a few characters and then animate them into their scenes. If I am unable to get to animating though I will instead have each settings be an isolated piece and make them just some basic animations to make them more dynamic like flickering lights or fireflies.
